Center

SNCIRE brings people and information together.

Our goal is to act as a central location for communicating information to local stakeholders and the international marketplace, and to facilitate and promote collaboration between parties with mutual interests, and incubation of new ideas and potential opportunities.

This means working with a wide range of interested parties, from private and government funding agencies to small and large entrepreneurs, economic development offices, and local resource tenure holders.

If you are interested in building a sustainable natural resource economy in the Skeena-Nass Region, why not become a member?

Vision

Through research and innovation in natural resource products, markets, and policies, and with an emphasis on development of fibre-based bioproducts and emerging technologies, the work of the SNCIRE transitions the Skeena-Nass Region to an economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable resource economy

Mission

The Skeena-Nass Center for Innovation in Resource Economics will identify, research, pilot, and develop ways for the forested land in the Skeena-Nass Region to be the foundation for a new resource economy in BC. This will be accomplished by recognising and optimizing the diversity of products that can be based on the natural variation on the land, and fully considers and promotes products, processes and innovative solutions for reducing the global climatic and carbon impact of human activities.
